Magic Bars

Magic Bars have been around for a very long time and the reason is pretty obvious. They are amazing! So the fact that they are incredibly easy to make creates so much appeal for this delicious treat.

Anytime I am in a pinch for a quick sweet, magic bars are first on my go to list. They are simple and quick to make, and are perfect for any occasion. They can be thrown into a lunch box for school or dressed up, on a fancy plate with a scoop of rich vanilla ice cream for an elegant dinner with friends.

I mean, whats not to love? Layers of buttery graham crackers, melted, gooey chocolate, rich butterscotch, crunchy, toasted pecans and chewy coconut topped off with sweet creamy condensed milk. I can’t wait to finish this post so I can gobble one down all by myself. So, Lets get started on this easy peasy dessert.

You will need to gather your ingredients and a few simple baking tools to get started.

  • measuring cup
  • 8*8 or 9*9 square baking pan
  • spatula
  • ingredients for dessert

Once you have everything you need, the process is effortless.

First you will need to melt 2/3 stick of butter. Once melted, mix with 2 cups of Graham crackers crumbs. You can purchase the crackers that have already been crushed on the baking aisle of most grocery stores. If you can’t find them, it is just as easy to throw them in a bag and crush them yourself. Depending on your day, this could be very therapeutic. Pour this mixture into your pan and press down with the back or your spatula. Now all you have to do is layer your remaining ingredients. You can do this in whatever order you like, but for optimal taste, follow the instructions. Sprinkle each of the following ingredients fully onto the next.

  1. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  2. butterscotch chips
  3. milk chocolate chips
  4. chopped pecans
  5. coconut
  6. sweetened condensed milk

After you have layered everything, place in the oven at 350 degrees and bake for about 25 minutes or until melted and toasted. Take them out of the oven and let cool to room temperature. You can now cut and serve. SO GOOD!

    Recipe for Magic Bars

  • 2/3 stick melted butter
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 3/4 C semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2/3 C butterscotch chips
  • 3/4 C milk chocolate chips
  • 1 C chopped pecans
  • 1 C shredded sweetened coconut
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk

Bake in a 350 degree oven for 25 minutes or until browned and melted through. Let cool completely before cutting.
